Protecting Freedom

Every day the power of those who make and enforce laws is growing, while the freedoms and rights of the individual are losing ground.

Politicians and police cannot be trusted to police themselves.  How can the system that is supposed to hold the government accountable be fair, when they created and control it?  The laws that are enforced on us citizens rarely apply to those wielding the power.

The best chance we have of holding them accountable is to expose their abuses to as many people as possible.  The most effective way to do this is to videotape their actions and release them to the public.  Video does not lie -and they are horrible at dealing with that threat.

Always have your camera with you and be committed to using it!  We need to get video cameras into the hands of as many people as possible and encourage them to record police activity at every chance.  This will create an atmosphere of fear of being taped that will decrease the likelihood of them stepping out of line.

There are many occasions when we should be recording video.  When you or someone else gets pulled over, at a protest or rally, while meeting with politicians, the courthouse, etc.  Basically, any interaction with “authority”.  Even anytime you see the police talking to anyone, why not?

The FreedomCams are great tools whether you are taping face-to-face or from across the street, incognito or in full view.   The problem with visible cameras or phones is that they often get taken away in which case you should also be taping with a hidden backup (as seen here).  The FreedomCams are small, simple to use and inexpensive.  It attaches to your collar or other clothing; you can hold it in your hand, have it in your car or record any other way.

Check your local laws regarding video recording.  A few states have even gone out of their way to make specific laws against videotaping police even though they are public servants who are out in public and paid by the public.  If they never do anything wrong, why would they mind being taped?
